Law vs. Grace

The law is a rigid prescription of regulations given to the hearer to exhibit proper physical behavior.

Grace is a series of commands provided by the Holy Spirit to influence the hearer to eternal sanctification.

This is why arguers of the Word cannot come to a proper conclusion; they attempt to use the law to explain the path to sanctification. That argument is not successful because grace surpasses the law; hence it cannot be defined or confined by the terms of the law.

Most (if not all) arguments concerning the Word are begun by those who are following the law, devoid of the Spirit.

Grace fulfills the law and transcends the regulations and shortcomings of the law which are the general seeds of Biblical argument.

This is why true followers who are influenced by the Spirit (through grace), understand the truth and avoid arguments concerning the law, which is foolishness.

Those who argue the law attempt to exalt themselves at the expense of those who they claim are not following it. In reality, these are modern era Pharisees that do not understand the spirit, but attempt salvation through the law – which is not possible. Pharisees often accused Jesus of breaking the law for healing the sick and maimed on the Sabbath.

Make no mistake, grace overcame the law and hearing God’s voice will direct your path precisely the way He intended.

Life is a series of decisions; and in making them, God’s voice is the only voice you need.

Titus 3:9 But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.

John 1:17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

Mark 3:2 And they watched him, whether he would heal him on the sabbath day; that they might accuse him.

Galatians 5:4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.

Galatians 5:14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

John 5:39-40 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.
