The Yoke and the Burden

Matthew 11:30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Theorem:
Jesus’ easy yoke is to be joined with Him. The light burden is to perform the necessary physical actions to join with Him. Then He gives the grace to grow in the spirit and the path is revealed. Then and only then is Abundant Life available to grasp.

Proof:
yoke
Strong’s Definition: From the root of ζεύγνυμι zeugnumi (to join, especially by a ” yoke” ); a coupling, that is, (figuratively) servitude (a law or obligation); also (literally) the beam of the balance (as connecting the scales): – pair of balances, yoke
The yoke is “to join”

burden
Strong’s Definition: Diminutive of G5414; an invoice (as part of freight), that is, (figuratively) a task or service: – burden.
The burden is a task; and the task is the yoke of joining (keeping company) with Him.

Once we put on his yoke, we are joined to Him in one spirit.
1 Corinthians 6:17 But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.

joined
Strong’s Definition: From κόλλα kolla (” glue” ); to glue, that is, (passively or reflexively) to stick (figuratively): – cleave, join (self), keep company.

Proverbs 20:27 KJV The spirit of man is the candle of the LORD, searching all the inward parts of the belly.

Taking on Jesus’ yoke is keeping company with Him. When we do this, our spirit is joined with His and He searches our inward parts. This is why Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. For it is only He who provides the key to unlock the obstacles within us that preclude us from abundant life. The only way we can experience abundant life is by first knowing Him (by taking on His yoke) and obeying what He reveals to us from our most inward parts.
