Make Sure He Knows You
Ana attends all Taylor Swift concerts, buys all her albums, and sings all her songs by heart. Ana is asked if she knows Taylor and she replies “Absolutely, I am her biggest fan!” Taylor is asked if she knows Ana and she replies “Who?”
That is how it will be for many at judgment. If you know Jesus, the question you need to ask yourself is: Does He know you?
We know Him by keeping His commands:
Mark 12:30-31 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.
1 John 2:3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
He said that He also knows us when we keep His commands:
John 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
manifest: to exhibit (in person) or disclose (by words):—appear, declare (plainly), inform, (will) manifest, shew, signify.
He said that He manifests Himself to those who keep His commandments, and manifesting Himself comes by hearing His voice. Jesus said that He knows those who hear His voice:
John 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
Jesus has already revealed what He will say to those who believe they know Him, but He does not know them:
Matthew 7:21-23 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Don’t fall into Ana’s trap; the key to the kingdom of Heaven is obedience!
