JOURNAL NOTES

From God’s perspective, getting understanding is of the utmost importance; it is where wisdom rests, and wisdom is not to be compared with anything desired.

Understanding cannot be learned through study; it must be purchased through obedience to God’s precepts.

Precepts are commands regarding moral conduct; obeying them is how understanding is purchased.

Precepts: a concrete expression of righteousness, the expression and result of the act of righteousness.

Proverbs 4:7 Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.

Proverbs 14:33 Wisdom resteth in the heart of him that hath understanding: but that which is in the midst of fools is made known.

Proverbs 8:11 For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it.

Psalm 119:104 Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way.
