Putting away childish things

Putting away childish things is to value the spiritual over the flesh. Decisions that feed fleshly desires are childish and hasten evil; they must be put away and replaced with godly decisions that generate spiritual growth: that is spiritual maturity at work.

1Corinthians 13:11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

Proverbs 14:16 A wise man feareth, and departeth from evil: but the fool rageth, and is confident.

Ancient Hebrew Lexicon of the Bible definition of “departeth:”

–The turning the head of the child or student into a particular direction.
