Journal Notes

I was called early in the morning: “Scott!” The voice sounded like a trumpet. It was around 3:50 am. I got up and started my devotions, and after reading the Word for a half hour, I was so tired I folded my hands across my chest and decided to take a short rest before prayer.

A half hour later I woke up and heard this verse:

Proverbs 6:10-11 Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep:So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth, and thy want as an armed man.

Poverty refers to spiritual poverty by lack of devotions; the Lord was teaching me that devotions must be performed daily in order to keep the mind renewed.
