Finding Rest

Rest in the Lord, they say, but how?

Jesus said He will give you rest. He is the answer to everything.

David figured it out; He “set the Lord before Him” so his glory rejoiced and his flesh rested in hope.

How did David’s glory rejoice? He wrote earlier that his glory is the Lord.

That means when you place the Lord before you in all that you do, He rejoices and your flesh rests in the hope He came to give:

Exactly what He said He would do.

Psalm 16:8-9 I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.

Psalm 3:3 But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.

1Timothy 1:1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the commandment of God our Saviour, and Lord Jesus Christ, which is our hope;

Hebrews 6:19 Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;

Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
