Looking Up

Jesus frequently repeated the words, “Do not fear” to those around Him.

But in the face of fearsome circumstances, how does one accomplish it?

Obedience.

Through obedience, love is perfected;
And perfect love casts out fear.

It’s looking up, not down, from the edge of a cliff;

Concentrate on loving the Father, and even in the face of fearsome circumstances,

Fear cannot exist.

Luke 6:47-48 Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like: He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.

Mark 12:30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.

1John 2:5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.

1John 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

Psalm 118:6 The LORD is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?
