Obedience is necessary for sanctification, and sanctification, perfection.
For many, perfection has negative connotations, but that is not what God intended.
He called us to be perfect, and from His perspective that is a friendly heart towards Him. A willing and obedient heart allows Him to sanctify through any means necessary.
To Him, that is perfection, and He searches the earth for those who possess it.
Matthew 5:48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
Isaiah 1:19 If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:
1John 2:5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
2Chronicles16:9 For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him…
Strong’s Definition: complete (literally or figuratively); especially friendly. full, just, made ready, peaceable, perfect (-ed), quiet, whole.
